Remembering Grandad

3 October

Cycled up to Charing Cross to spin the legs out for a couple of pints of one of my favourite beers (Hophead) in one of my favourite pubs (The Harp) with one of my favourite people. Poor Mark had to put up with my monomaniacal, obsessive one track running monologue, which was interrupted somewhat by the news that my Grandad died today.

Walter married my Gran I think when I was about 8 or 9, which would have been 8 or 9 years after my mum's Dad, John died. He made my Gran very happy. They explored all over Europe together before Gran's health started to deteriorate. After that he cared for her for many, many, years, despite being an old boy himself! He was evergreen, cheerful and fiercely loyal.

So - good bye Grandad - and thank you for looking after my Gran and making her a very happy lady for many years.

Here he is with Leah, my daughter, must be about 7 years ago now...
