The BIG run - a final thank you...

I am heavily indebted to J, Tom, Jonathan and Claire for running with me, to those that took care of stuff (Jo, Emma, Tom and Katie) to Suzanna for cheerleading, to Adam and Ximena for being there after the end, to amazing donators, well wishers and to people who saw our flag out on the route and came and encouraged us.

But there was one person, whom on the day was at risk of disappearing into the background but who went every kilometre and lived every step of the way with us - my wonderful Dad! Thank you Dad. The couple of photos below show you what he was up against. It was not all plain sailing. There were definitely moments when I didn't know what I needed to do to get there.

I had planned for nearly everything - but one thing got past me - wet socks. I can't abide wet socks - they soften the feet and lead to blisters. I'd packed three pairs but that was nowhere near enough. Dad stepped in and took the problem away - see photo below. I know this will sound strange, but when he handed me back a pair of dry socks that had hours before been drenched - that was a pretty big moment! It's in the little things - and dad was all over the little things yesterday - thank you.

It is telling that hardly any of the photos are of Dad - he doubled as official photographer! The true lot of a parent!
