Chronicling the recovery

I haven't run a huge amount this week! On Sunday through Tuesday I'm not sure if I'd have been able to! On Sunday I was pretty sore and stairs were challenging. By Monday I was walking around fine but I could still feel the stiffness and on Tuesday it was receding.

So, on Wednesday I strapped the shoes back on and went for a gentle plod round Brockwell Park. Legs felt heavy and there was some stiffness there and I didn't have a full range of movement. Spooling up to anything like 5:00 mins per kilometre was uncomfortable.

Went out again on Friday and felt much better. Did some 100m and 200m sprints, some running drills, and some static stuff. Didn't push it too hard - so I don't have any stiffness today from that session - so was only at about 75-80% effort. But feel fine today. Which is good because today Leah, Owen and I did the Bessemer Fun Run. We did the 3k and to give Owen credit he ran all the way at around 6mins per k pace - which ain't bad for a five year old! He was mainly just trying to beat his sister, who was more interested in chatting to her friends so everyone was happy. I was even happier to find out we'd raised of £2k for the school - just £22k to go!
