Pain in the chest....

20 May

I've had to take the last couple of days off. On the big bike ride last Thursday I slipped when I was lifting the bike over a fence and fell on to the fence. At the time it hurt my chest quite a bit but it soon wore off and I didn't think about it again...

...until Saturday morning when I got up early targeting a brisk pre-breakfast 5k. After a couple of brisk kilometres I could hardly breathe and it really hurt to breathe deeply. So I slowed down.

On Sunday we were at Herne Hill market and there was a physio there who got me to wave my arms around and diagnosed a tear or strain of the intercostal muscles that join the ribs - a few days rest and I should be back running. I'll not run Sunday-Tuesday and try something gentle on Wednesday... to be on the safe side.
