Happy Birthday run with Tom!

It was Tom's 43rd birthday today so to mark the occasion we dropped the kids at school and set of to run the Green Chain Walk all the way to the Thames Barrier, then round to Greenwich and back along the river to Surrey Quays and back to Dulwich. We had a gorgeous day for it and it made an amazing marathon-length run, I'll definitely be doing it again.

Tom's a mad keen super-long distance runner and is wholly responsible for getting me even thinking of running over marathon distance. I remember picking up the kids one day last year and realised he'd been running since we'd dropped them off. He'd been running for SIX hours! At the time I thought it was mad and impossible. Now I know it's mad. So Tom - thank you for an amazing run today and the inspiration to have a go at these crazy distances!

Just to help Tom enjoy his birthday that bit more the kids and I designed myself a T-shirt to let everyone know it was his birthday. I think when your over forty you can be quite difficult to age. Are you old, really old, or nearly dead? From the perspective of anyone under the age of 25 it's so hard to tell. So the T-shirt will have been really helpful.
