Eating and running...

The kids are off school this week, so this morning we made pack lunches and I took them up to Forest School where they hang out in the woods (so strange that there are woods this close to the centre of London!) at the back of Dulwich golf course. I left the car up there and jogged down to Dulwich Park where I did a speed and strength session. 400m reps, pull ups (very gently after chest injury), press ups, running drills, sit ups, squats etc. Then I jogged home.
Then after a bit of work, chores etc I had lunch (pasta and a nut bar thing) and 30 minutes later put the smelly running clothes back on and jogged up to the woods again. I didn't go at any great pace (5:15s approx.) but wanted to practice running having very recently eaten. I think this is going to be one of the big challenges on the big run, eating and running at the same time. I only ran 5k or so, and I did have 30mins for the food to go down, but it felt ok, if not entirely comfortable!
I'm hopeful I can get by on little and often on the big run, but I suspect at some point, maybe two points, I will need to sit down and eat some "proper" food, so I want to start exploring what sort of thing disagrees with me the least. Pasta is ok - if a bit heavy... tomorrow's question - peanut butter sandwiches...
