Sometimes when you head out for a beer fear grips you. What if loads of people want to drink beer tonight? What if they run out? What if there are zombies behind us? So obviously, you run. To the pub. Fortunately we arrived before the beer ran out and ahead of the zombies, who aren't allowed in pubs.

So what have I learned today? Don't run after a big bowl of soup and J drinks a lot quicker than I do (see picture below).

In running terms it was a gentle 9k to the pub and a slightly beery 1.8k back. All at chatty pace.

In more important terms J has confirmed that (barring a few potential barriers) he's in to run with me on the big day and is aiming to do his first marathon at the end of the run. It will be a pedestrian 5hrs 30 at best I reckon (if he sticks with me), but a marathon is a marathon! It will be amazing to have him along. Cheers bro!
